A membrane inside this tank separates it into two parts. One of these parts is water and the other is air (gas). As the current temperature in the system increases, the water expands and the system pressure in the expansion tank is balanced as the volume increases. If the gas in the expansion tank runs out, the combi will show the system of operation as if this tank does not exist. In this case, the water pressure of the combi increases. If it exceeds three bars, the safety valve (water release valve) is activated automatically and the boiler starts to flow water. When the combi stops working, the water pressure either returns to normal or is reset. Water flows from the valve drop by drop.
